The H3I Healthy Lifestyle™ weight loss spa program is about —surprise— your lifestyle. Our whole program is based on the idea that your total health is the outgrowth of how you live day to day. Medical guidance is sometimes needed, but your basic health is a result of the choices you make, your nutrition, your exercise habits, and your persistence in control of these.
At our health and weight loss spa, we teach the Healthy Lifestyle™ to help you make the tough choices stick. After a little practice, you begin to lose weight and they become your habits of health. After a little time, you begin to act better and feel better: you become your very own health and weight loss retreat. Guests who stay for two weeks experience an avarage weight loss between 7-14 lbs; Guests who stay for three to four weeks lose 15-30 lbs. Weight loss varies upon individual. The Health Institute will help you begin your weight loss journey ... and most importantly teach you all you need to know to reach your goal weight!!!
The program has 4 parts to it, which we have called the foundations of health. They address your self-awareness about what you do to either achieve or thwart your own health; your knowledge of health and weight loss issues; fitness; and sound nutrition without guilt-driven dieting.
1. Lifestyle Management
There is probably no greater predictor of happiness and fulfillment than a positive perspective.
We can be doing a lot of things right, but without a positive outlook, our emotional self can override everything else. Hilton Head Health Institute-The Weight Loss Health Spa—incorporates the mind/body connection essential to self-awareness and a peaceful existence.
You’ll learn techniques for responding to stress. You’ll explore the mind/body connection so vital in understanding the destructiveness of self-defeating thoughts and behaviors. Through body image awareness you’ll identify obstacles keeping you from making peace with food. You’ll learn that you can overcome binge, compulsive and emotional eating.
Guests often cite self-awareness and internal clarity as gifts received during their stay at our weight loss retreat. Whether through connecting with others, a mind/body awareness during a meal, a series of self-revelations during a lecture, an insightful moment while practicing yoga or a moment of peace on a beach walk, you’ll have ample opportunity to evaluate what matters in your life.
2. Lifestyle Education
Solid, accurate and reliable information isn’t all of it. If it were, you could just read a book and be done with it. But combining the basic information with the most up-to-date scientific research does assist in understanding why the adult fat camps and fat farms gimmicks and quick fix approaches just don’t work.

Hilton Head Health Institute weight loss spa recognizes the myriad hurdles to choosing and creating balanced, nutritious, flavorful meals. Let us help you examine some of those obstacles and design a plan you can live with!
Our Guests appreciate the portion controlled gourmet meals served in the pleasant environment of the Institute’s dining room or open courtyard. Our nutrition plan, a very low refined carbohydrate, low fat, low sodium, high fiber diet, is in keeping with the recommended guidelines of the American Heart, American Cancer and American Diabetes Associations. You will not be hungry at our weight loss spa and retreat, we promise.

And be assured that we will never jump on a fat farm or fad diet bandwagon or advocate a weight loss gimmick for short-term gains.

4. Lifetime Fitness
Hilton Head Health Institute weight loss spa believes that exercise is a lifelong prescription for health and longevity. On the most basic level, physical activity improves strength, flexibility and coordination. However, every major medical and health research organization concludes that exercise is indeed beneficial to each organ and system in the body.
Consider the following: as little as ten minutes of walking, repeated often enough during the day, can make an important contribution to fitness, health and a sense of emotional well-being. Further, many physical and psychological diseases can be prevented or managed with regular physical activity, including: heart attacks; strokes; Type II diabetes; colon, prostate, breast and other cancers; anxiety; depression; dementia; and, of course, obesity.
