Increasingly, business, industry, and professional associations are requiring their constituents to return to school to maintain a high level of currency in their field. The Continuing Education Unit (CEU) is a system that documents participation in non-credit courses. The University of South Carolina is one of many universities to adopt the findings established in 1970 by the National Task Force to Study the Feasibility and Implementation of a Uniform Unit for the Measurement of Non-Credit Continuing Education Programs. The Hilton Head Health Institute weight loss spa is pleased to offer CEUs for many of our programs!
CEU Credit
Units are computed on the basis of one unit for each ten contact hours of participation and recorded to one decimal point. The Hilton Head Health Institute weight loss spas offers 6.2 CEUs for its weekly program accomplished at the Institute for a fee of $50. Please contact the Institute at least two weeks prior to your stay to obtain course approval. You may contact us through email at getserious@hhhealth.com or 843.785.3919.
CEU's carry no credit for university degree programs. Although CEU-related activities are an integral part of the total university program, they are a separate and distinct operation from the University's credit programs, which lead to bachelors, masters or other degrees.
It is the responsibility of each guest to make sure that their professional association accepts these CEUs. The American Medical Association (AMA) and the American Nursing Association (ANA) are among the many groups to accept these standard CEUs.
The CEU Unit at USC
USC Regional Campuses & Continuing Education administers the program and maintains records of CEU's earned by individuals.
