Darren Macioszek is the Sous Chef at Hilton Head Health. He received his Bachelor’s degree from Ohio University and his Food Production Certification from Clemson University. Originally from a rural suburb outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Darren’s passion for food first developed on his grandparent’s farm. This early exposure to sustainable and natural foods led him to a career as a chef and restaurateur. Each of Darren’s two restaurants, both located in Bluffton, SC, offered a farm to table emphasis. After moving on from the restaurant business, Darren focused on intimate “underground” catering and pop-up food event utilizing locally sourced and foraged foods from the region.
