Chef Thomas Carrig was a Research & Development scientist in the polymer adhesives industry for nearly 20 years before pursuing his passions of food and nutrition. He graduated from Johnson & Wales University with an Associate of Applied Sciences in Culinary Arts and a Bachelor of Science in Culinary Nutrition. Prior to joining the Hilton Head Health team, Thomas served as Sous Chef at a weight loss center and also operated his own personal chef business in Charlotte, NC serving nutritious food to health-conscious families and professional athletes. He is credentialed as a Nutrition & Dietetic Technician, Registered and a member of the Academy on Nutrition & Dietetics. In his free time, you can find him at a farmer’s market, golf course, or the beach.
