Improving Outcomes, Improving Lives
Aside from all the details and stressors that come from running your own practice, you could argue that the number one concern of most bariatric surgeons is this: Will my patient make the lifestyle changes necessary to maintain their success after surgery? All too often, surgery can be seen as the end-all answer despite the preparation and education that is provided around the requirements for sustainable change. But what if you could close that gap? We believe you can by partnering with us to enhance your post-bariatric support programs.
Hilton Head Health has been helping people safely lose weight and recapture their lives for more than 40 years. Founded in 1976 at Hilton Head Island’s hospital, Psychologist Dr. Peter Miller opened Hilton Head Health Behavioral Institute for those seeking an answer to sustainable weight loss. A few years later, after moving the program to a private setting, client success led Dr. Miller to write and publish The Hilton Head Metabolism Diet sharing some of his core program principles. The ground-breaking 4-week psychology-based residential program allowed patients to remove themselves from their self-sabotaging environment to gain control over their eating and unhealthy habits.
Today, our award-winning weight loss programs range from 1-week to immersive extended stays for those needing more support. The semi-controlled environment is critical to the success of our guests as they gain confidence in resisting temptations and applying new daily routines.
Participants experience the physiological benefits of healthy eating and exercise while they put in the mental work to identify behaviors and apply modifications essential for sustainable weight management.
Now, we’ve tailored our holistic approach to the specific needs of bariatric patients through B Healthy, a minimum 1-week new residential weight management program that provides a bridge for the challenges that patients face post-surgery.
Partnering with us to provide a residential weight management option to your patients will support post-surgery long-term weight loss and weight management through immersive behavior modification education, provide patients with services that extend the typical 6-month, post-surgery support group disengagement, and bolster Bariatric Centers of Excellence longitudinal success rates with on-going patient care
