The Life Coach plays an integral role in the development and delivery of Hilton Head Health’s Wellness programs at our Wellness resort. The Life Coach is an on-site expert and representative leader in the areas of creating change, establishing goals, practicing mindfulness, and self-care. He/She works alongside our experts in nutrition and fitness to deliver a holistic health and wellness experience. The Life Coach provides a variety of workshops/seminars each week in addition to small group and individual sessions to assist the guests of H3 in finding the best version of themselves while focusing on initiating change and establishing goals.
With guests attending from 1 to 8 weeks or more, this position provides a unique coaching opportunity to work with guests on mental readiness and strength for change, while they are in a semi-controlled environment with healthy food and safe, effective exercise opportunities provided, along with education on strategic wellness habits that facilitate a healthy lifestyle.
Topics covered include but are not limited to motivational coaching, communication, emotional eating, body image, self-sabotage, self-care, resilience, meditation, spirituality, and positive thinking. As a part of the overall wellness programs at Hilton Head Health, the Life Coach also plays a critical role in the development of all H3’s programs and program philosophies. He/she contributes to our marketing efforts in the areas of public relations, writing blog articles, responding to media requests, and other outlets that present opportunities.
- Must be able to relate empathetically to individual guests
- Must be able to facilitate engaging and meaningful groups and workshops
- Must possess good communication and public speaking skills
- Must understand, practice, and model a healthy lifestyle
- Ability to apply psychological, emotional and wellness principles to a wide range of guests’ needs
- Able to respond to a wide variety of individual guest needs in the areas of lifestyle management, wellness challenges, life transitions (divorce, empty nest, retirement, etc.)
- Facilitate consultations and provide actionable support to H3 guests within a short working time frame
- Familiar with community, national and international resources for a variety of guest needs, including recommendations where appropriate for mental health and/or addictions issues
Position Qualifications
Education/Experience:
- Minimum 5 years experience in coaching
- MS or Doctorate in psychology preferred, other health backgrounds entertained
- Provide documentation of appropriate licensing/certification
- Experience with public speaking and group therapy preferred
COMPENSATION: $60,000-$68,000 Annually
